DART asteroid-smashing mission ‘on track for an impact,’ NASA says


NASA is simply days away from slamming a spacecraft into an asteroid 7 million miles (11 million kilometers) from Earth.

The company’s long-awaited Double Asteroid Redirection Take a look at (DART) mission will impression with the asteroid moonlet Dimorphos on Monday (Sept. 26), if all goes in line with plan. The DART mission launched on Nov. 23, 2021 on high of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and is now hurtling by deep area in the direction of the binary near-Earth asteroid (65803) Didymos and its moonlet Dimorphos.
