Microsoft’s $69 Billion Activision Deal Locked Into UK Scrutiny

(Bloomberg) — Microsoft Corp.’s deliberate $69 billion buy of pc video games developer Activision Blizzard Inc. faces an in-depth probe within the UK after regulators stated the deal might hamper competitors.

The Competitors and Markets Authority stated it determined to kickstart an extended evaluation after Microsoft turned down the possibility to supply cures to handle its issues.

“Microsoft knowledgeable the CMA that it might not provide such undertakings,” the regulator stated in its resolution.
