SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan, Sept 15 (Reuters) – Chinese language President Xi Jinping met Vladimir Putin on Thursday in Uzbekistan, their first assembly since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine started, triggering the largest confrontation between Moscow and the West because the Chilly Conflict.

Xi, on his first journey outdoors China because the begin of the COVID-19 pandemic, met Putin within the historical Uzbek Silk Highway metropolis of Samarkand the place they may attend a summit of The Shanghai Cooperation Group (SCO).
